Definitions

ATONEMENT--"At one", reconciliation man to God.
JUSTIFICATION--To be pardoned from punishment for sins and declared guiltless or righteous.
Restored to a proper relationship with God.
SANCTIFICATION--Process of becoming free from sin--pure, clean, and Holy through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
GRACE--Divine means of help or strength given through the bounteous mercy and love of Jesus Christ. Immortality, Exaltation
SAVED--To rescue, to keep from being lost, to be delivered from the power and consequences of sin.
SALVATION--To be saved from both physical and spiritual death.
REDEMPTION--Saved, purchased from bondage.
MERCY--Compassion shown toward an offender.
EDIFY--Spiritually support and lift us toward a better life. Bring us closer to our Father in Heaven.
PRINCIPLES & DOCTRINE are TRUTHS that are essential for Eternal Life.
PROPHET--Teacher, one who speaks, who is inspired of God to speak in his name. (Lee, 1964)
The Prophet Joseph Smith said in answer to a query as to how this Church is different from all other churches that we are different because we have the Holy Ghost (see History of the Church, 4:4 ). Every one of you has had hands laid upon your head and you were blessed to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. That was, in a sense, a command for you to so live that you could enjoy
the gifts of the Holy Ghost. The Prophet Joseph Smith said, “No [person] can receive the [gift of the] Holy Ghost without receiving revelations. The Holy Ghost is a revelator.” (Teachings, p. 3 8.) Now, in a broad sense, then, that word prophet might apply to all faithful Church members. I do not mean that we have the right to receive revelations as to how this Church might be run, or that members of a stake may have revelations as to how or who should be named in a stake organization or in a ward as a bishop. But I do say that the bishop
in his place, the mission president in his place, the stake president in his place, the quorum president, the auxiliary president, the seminary teacher, the institute teacher, a father and mother in the home, and a young person in his or her quest for a proper companion in marriage—each of us has the right. No body of people has a gift so widely diffused as the gift of prophecy. You recall the definition as contained in the book of Revelation. John quoted the angelic messenger who came to him as saying, “I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: . . . for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Corinthians :3). In other words, anyone who enjoys the gift by which he may have God revealed has the spirit of prophecy, the power of revelation, and in a sense is a prophet within the sphere of responsibility and authority given to him.SEER--Sees with spiritual eyes by the power of God that which cannot be seen with the natural eyes. Is a revelator and a prophet.
“And the king said that a seer is greater than a prophet.
“And Ammon said that a seer is a revelator and a prophet also; and a gift which is greater can no man have, except he should possess the power of God, which no man can; yet a man may have great power given him from God.
“But a seer can know of things which are past, and also of things which are to come, and by them shall all things be revealed, or, rather, shall secret things be made manifest, and hidden things shall come to light, and things which are not known shall be made known by them, and also things shall be made known by them which otherwise could not be known.
“Thus God has provided a means that man, through faith, might work mighty miracles; therefore he becometh a great benefit to his fellow beings.” (Mosiah 8: 5– 8.)Because a seer has the gift of seeing both the past and the future as well as revealing hidden things. . .

• President Howard W. Hunter (1907–95) explained the unique role of a seer and how a seer views things differently than others: “A
seer is one who sees. This does not mean that he sees through his natural eyes but rather through spiritual eyes. The seeric gift is a supernatural endowment” (The Teachings of Howard W. Hunter, ed. Clyde J. Williams [1997], 224).
• Elder John A. Widtsoe (1872–1952) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles further described a seer as one who “perceives the meaning of that which seems obscure to others; therefore he is an interpreter
and clarifier of eternal truth. He foresees the future from the past and the present. This he does by the power of the Lord operating through him directly, or indirectly with the aid of divine instruments such as the Urim and Thummim. In short, he is one who sees, who walks in the Lord’s light with open eyes” (Evidences and Reconciliations, arr. G. Homer Durham [1960], 258).

A seer is a revelator and a prophet whose power is a gift from God. A seer can translate unknown languages and can know the past, the future, and hidden things
REVELATOR--
BROKEN HEART-Humble (teachable) full of sorrow for sin (no matter who committed it)
CONTRITE--Willingness to obey God.
CONVERTED--True at all times to what you know. Consistently true to what you know. (Eyring 10/10)
NOTHINGNESS of Man--our inability to redeem ourselves from our fallen state.
